signz includes the ability to export data, on a scheduled basis, to a Data Warehouse that is specifically designed to:
- Increase the performance of reporting - Decrease the complexity ... allowing non-technical users to extract data from the Data Warehouse in various formats without huge amounts of training or documentation. - Store data in a format that is directly compatible with products such as Microsoft OLAP / Analysis Services. This can give the reporting systems a large performance boost as the volume of data increases. - Allow other data sources to be combined with signz information. Other data may include sales expenses, vehicle costs, legal and development costs that can be exported from accounting systems or manually entered. Regardless of the source they can be analysed using the same tools:
Data in the signz Data Warehouse is stored in the following ways: - Future sales / expenditure is stored as estimates, updated daily (or on demand) - Historical sales / expenditure is stored as exact figures during the end-of-month procedure. This data is flagged as 'read only' as is never changed. By combining both past and future transactions in the same
Data Warehouse, users can use the same systems and techniques for forecasting and for
